I had many expectations but what I got was a complete surprise! I thought “on the scene ready to go” Patrick was going to get back to us with a price to work off, what I got was the owner no longer wants to sell he loves his boat too much and what he thought he wanted (a new catana) he doesn’t want anymore.
“Crickey we the ready to buy buyers didn’t see that coming”
We do need to have a conversation with Patrick rather than an early morning text but this was left field for us. We have gone from nearly having the ideal boat to back on the land looking wistfully out to sea.
My father as always was very philosophical about the proceedings and reminded me as one door closes another will reopen. Who am I to argue with a man who is celebrating 80 years this very day? Happy Birthday Dad!
Possible Options to consider
1. Deposit stays, perhaps organise boat review and pre plan to buy boat in 18 months maybe seller ready to go then
2.We can renegotiate terms and timing to suit all and continue plan until this morning with different dateline
3.We all walk away and continue the search for Miss Catana
4.We keep in touch and see how we go in the future with this seller
